Merle Sharick is responsible for all business development activities for MARI. Clients of MARI include the “Who’s Who” of financial services and lending. He manages a team that markets ChoicePoint, Inc. data solutions to the mortgage and real estate industries.

Sharick is primarily responsible for promoting MARI products designed to improve Risk Management (through broker credentialing , licensing verifications, and fraud prevention) and pre-employment background screening processes and efficiencies in the mortgage industry. MARI serves 700 subscribers by providing public and non-public financial sanction information, state licensing verifications, criminal, credit, and identity verification reports used in the Broker/Correspondent approval process and in the quality assurance and fraud investigations areas.

Prior to joining MARI, Sharick was a risk management and business development executive in the private mortgage insurance industry for 21 years. Prior to his mortgage insurance experience, Sharick worked in public school administration and the real estate and auction business. Currently he is a licensed auctioneer and real estate broker in several states.

He is a member of various industry related groups. Sharick has been an active participant in The Housing Roundtable and is a past board member of the National Association of Review Appraisers and Mortgage Underwriters. He is frequently asked to speak publicly on various topics related to housing, real estate markets, and affordable housing issues.

Sharick was selected for inclusion in Who’s Who in America in 1998. He was also selected to Who’s Who in Finance and Industry in 1991. He is a graduate of Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas. Additionally, Sharick earned a master’s degree from the University of Kansas and is a graduate of Missouri Auction School.
