Eugene Lockhart Jr., a former linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys, was sentenced by federal district court judge Jorge A Solis to 54 months in federal prison for his role in a multimillion-dollar mortgage fraud scheme involving straw buyers and fraudulent mortgages.
Lockhart was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $2,436,079.00 and must voluntarily surrender on January 16, 2012, before 2:00 p.m., to begin serving his sentence.
As previously reported by Mortgage Fraud Blog, Lockhart pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud as charged in the indictment. Nine others indicted have already been sentenced.
