Guilty Plea Entered in Case Involving $245,981 in Losses

Denise Baskerville, Newark, New Jersey, an administrative assistant for M.T. Real Estate Development, Inc., pled guilty to conspiracy to make false statements. Baskerville was sentenced to 3 years probation, restitution in the amount of $169,782.18 and a special assessment fee of $100.00.

According to the plea agreement, Baskerville and others created and submitted false and fraudulent documents used by unqualified borrowers to obtain FHA-insured mortgages. Losses to HUD as a result of the 16 mortgage defaults was $242,981.
