Title Company Owner Pleads Guilty to Misreps

Steven C. Gittinger, 50, Cincinnati, Ohio, pleaded guilty in United States District Court to one count of conspiracy to commit bank fraud and one count of money laundering for his participation in a mortgage fraud scheme.

According to a statement of facts filed with his guilty plea, Gittinger was a principal of Classic Title Agency, Inc. and helped close real estate sales. Between June 2003 and 2005, Gittinger received business and made money for performing closings of real estate sales. In 2003, Gittinger made various fraudulent representations on closing documents in which misrepresentations were made, then forwarded to financial institutions which funded loans for the property. The property referenced in the criminal information was 5416 Edwardsville Road, Clarksville, Ohio.

Gittinger agrees that for the purpose of the Sentencing Guidelines the amount of loss attributable to him is more than $400,000.00 but less than $1,000,000.00.

Conspiracy to Commit Bank Fraud carries a maximum penalty of not more than thirty years imprisonment, a fine of up to $1,000,000 (or twice the gross gain to the defendant or loss of the victim. Money Laundering carries a maximum penalty of not more than ten years imprisonment, a fine of up to $250,000 (or twice the gross gain to the defendant or loss of the victim).

  1. Title companys think there GOD. I have a case with a title agancy and a finance company. I have a letter from the state that proves I was defrauded out of my home. The RP-1752 transfer report, my signuter is misspelt. The nortery how notery’s the document has disapeared on the state linance burial. The title agancy expected a copy of a drivers liance, a copy of my husband’s death certifacate, Not the legal one with the state seal, no power of atterny. There was no esment for my back ares on the deed, and aproved the documents for the finance company. This was in another part of my state. The finance settlement lawyer excepted the documents with no power of attorney, and the signuter on the HUD-1 was very puicular. The new Deed holder has gust lost in court, by default. The finance company has been demissed, because my lawyer did not send a affadaivd of service to the finance company with in the time thedocument was surpost to have been served. Giving them the promison to another court for them to acuntion of the house. The title company is know trying to get the case dismissed, or they want an equitable suburgation. Which mine if they put the title back in my name I would have to pay the other persons mortgage. I have documents from a hand writing exspert that all the document has been forgered, and two other hand writing exsperts said the same thing. My lawyer when he signed the document to dismissed the finance company, quite in a email the same day.  two weeks later I went to court, for the finance company, the case was desmissed the night before. I found out why. Two weeks later My lawyer how had quite emailed me that I had a court date for the title company. I called the court and had the case postphone for the next mouth. A few weeks later My ex lawyer emaied me again and asked if I wanted him to go to court for the tile company.
He wants to dismiss the title company too. He claims I can refile againest the finance company and the title company at a later date. The court is trying to find me another lawyer. But can not, because I live up state NY and legal aid in my area can not aford to help me. These poeple might get away with this, not because I do have the profe, but because I’m a senior citzen on a low income and con not aford another lawyer to defend me. The title insurance is chicago title insurance company. They have been find by the goverment for some of these same misstakes. The equity in my home has been used by all these companys with there charges. I have sold most of my valueables to keep up with this case. I’m still in the house, but I do not know for how much longer.  The finance company wants to seal the house. The title company claims they did nothing wrong.
