Scott H. Summerhays, 55, formerly of South Lake Tahoe, currently in custody in Reno, Nevada, who fraudulently convinced 11 persons to loan him a total of $3.6 million for the purchase of a golf course near Gardnerville, Nevada, pleaded guilty to 24 federal felony charges.

Jamal E. Lawson, Sr., 44, Duluth, Georgia, who victimized others in a so-called advance-fee loan fraud scheme, was sentenced to more than four years in federal prison after being convicted at trial.
Darryl Burke, 50, and Vicki Garland, 50, both of Delray Beach, Florida, were convicted by a federal jury of bank fraud and wire fraud conspiracy, after a two and half week trial before U.S. District Judge James I. Cohn.

Falor, 48, Chicago, Illinois, the former manager of a defunct Chicago-based real estate company that acquired and managed hotels, was sentenced to more than six years in federal prison for evading more than $1.7 million in federal income taxes and siphoning millions of dollars from the Blake’s operations at the expense of a lender, city and state taxing authorities, union employees, and other creditors and vendors to support a lavish lifestyle that included multi-million dollar homes, luxury cars, boats, and planes.
Pasquale Pappalardo, 60, Coral Springs, Florida, was sentenced to 20 years in prison, with three years of supervised release, and was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $1,061,401 and forfeiture of $3,500,000.
Christopher Jackson, 46, Elk Grove, California, after a seven day trial, was found guilty of all six counts charged against him.
Eduardo Galan, 63, Brockport, New York, has been indicted and charged with mail fraud and bankruptcy fraud.
Robert Ponte, 59, Denville, New Jersey, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Robert N. Chatigny in Hartford, Connecticut, to 90 months of imprisonment, followed by five years of supervised release, for his role in two investment schemes that involved at least 100 properties, and more than $23 million in losses to lending institutions.
Hans Seibt, 72, Las Vegas, Nevada, was sentenced to the maximum term of ten years in prison for swindling investors in a land development scheme.
Kamalu Gonzales, 47, Henderson, Nevada, a former loan officer who convinced at least 16 victims to give him money for a high yield investment scheme involving the foreign currency exchange market, was sentenced to 6½ years in prison, five years of supervised release, and ordered to pay over $830,000 in restitution for his guilty pleas to federal fraud and money laundering charges.
